Abū Khadījah ʿAbd al Waḥid clarifies the affair of some brothers who claim to be Salafis, yet cooperates with the Ḥizbis.

❝There's a question here from the Philippines, there is an organization in Davao city in the Philippines, and he names the organization, some sort of TV thing, and they have invited someone called Wāʾil Ibrāhīm, I don't know who that is, and Mr. Menk. They have broadcasted also the lectures of ʿĀʾid al-Qarnī and others, as well as Hudá TV, and they read the book of ʿĀʾid al-Qarnī, the famous book. They also have acting, and drama, and videos, and Anāshīd in the background, singing and acting, acting, this is another kadhib (lie). When you act and pretend to be someone else, this is kadhib (lying), and you find this on Youtube channels. And there are some so-called Salafis working within that organization and defending them.

They are so-called Salafis because the Salafis wouldn't do that. You know these people are singing and dancing and acting on stage and you as a Salafī is going to join them? Then either you are ignorant and you think (that) you are following Salafiyyah or you are not (a) Salafī, (and) you are pretending. Either you are a jāhil (ignorant) or you are pretending to be jāhil (ignorant), and you are deceiving. 

So what is the advice? The whole of this lecture is the advice, the whole of this lecture that I gave is the advice for this. Our Daʿwah (call) is tawqīfiyyah (established by the legislation and not by the opinion of the people), our methodology is tawqīfī (established by the legislation and not by the opinion of the people), the Manhaj (methodology) that is driven by revelation - (the) Qurʾān and (the) Sunnah and the way of the Ṣahāba (companions), so the whole of this lecture that I gave is about this. 

Do you cooperate with them? Of course, you don't cooperate with them. Allāh - subḥānahu wa-taʿālá - said in the Qurʾān:

﴾وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ﴿

Cooperate you Muslims upon righteousness and piety and do not cooperate upon sin and transgression.^[1]

So, when these people are singing and acting on stage, is that sin and transgression or not? Answer me brothers, (it is) sin and transgression. So what did Allāh say? Cooperate or don't cooperate? 

﴾وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا﴿

And do not cooperate upon sin and transgression. 

If they say: why don't you cooperate? You say: because Allāh said to not cooperate with you. They say: where did Allāh say? (You respond) Allāh said it in the Qurʾān, in Sūrat al-Māʾidah, Allāh said:

﴾وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ﴿

And cooperate upon Birr and Taqwá.

What is Birr and Taqwá? - Kitāb (Book) and Sunnah and (the way of) Ṣahāba (companions). So I will cooperate with you upon  Birr and Taqwá - upon righteousness and piety. And Allāh said: 

﴾وَلَا تَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْإِثْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ﴿

And do not cooperate upon sin and transgression.

So you are sinning and you are transgressing, and you are calling ʿĀʾid al-Qarnī, and I mentioned yesterday to the brothers, after the dars (lesson), about these people that were sitting around Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz bin Bāz - raḥimahullāh. After one of his lectures in the 1900s, when Shaykh bin Bāz was talking about his Shaykh, Muḥammad Ibn Ibrahīm Āl ash-Shaykh, and he was talking about his life with him and Shaykh bin Bāz started crying, and the people they started crying. So, a group of them, after the dars (lecture), they gathered around Shaykh Ibn Bāz. some of them are Qutubis and Surūris, and you know they are following the ideology that opposes the Sunnah, and they started debating Shaykh ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz Ibn Bāz. One of them was ʿĀʾid al-Qarnī, he was there, this ʿĀʾid al-Qarnī was there. They want something from (the) Shaykh, Shaykh bin Bāz finished them off.

But the point here being is that there is no cooperation with these people who oppose the methodology, and the Uṣūl (foundation), and the ʿAqīdah (creed and belief) of the Salaf, because they are opposing it and they are contradicting it in their Daʿwah, in the wasāʾil of Daʿwah - in the means of Daʿwah -  in the way that they rectify, in their reconciliation, in their trying to fix the Ummah. All of these are in opposition to the way of the Salaf, in the way that they deal with Ahl ul-Bidʿah (people of innovation), in the way that they themselves embrace the Bidʿah (innovation), all of this is an opposition, the way that they deal with the rulers is in opposition with the Sunnah - an opposition to the Uṣūl (foundation). 

And the brother said that there are some so-called Salafis who cooperate (with them); no they are not Salafī, or they are ignorant and they think they are Salafī, or they are liars and they are calling themselves Salafī because a Salafī wouldn't, he wouldn't (do this). He would go back to Ibn Bāz, he would go back to al-Albāni, he would go back to Ibn ʿUthaymīn, he would go back to Muqbil Ibn Hādī, he would go back to Rabīʿ al-Madkhalī, and al-Fawzān, and al-Luḥaydān. And he would go even further back, of course, from the Salaf of this Ummah (nation) and see that they didn't do this, so why am I doing this? So what Salafiyyah am I following? It's a fake and a fraud, you are fooling yourself.

Bārakallāhu fīkum.❞
